Who We Are

Toshi’s Roast is a family owned Coffee Roasting House in Surprise Arizona, which is located Northwest of Phoenix.  We are dedicated to providing the finest in fresh roasted coffee.  We offer specialty, brewed, and cold coffees, in addition to a selection of fresh pastries and desserts, we also offer fruit smoothies!

Opening our own coffee house has been a dream of mine during the final five years of my career as a Probation Officer.  During my fieldwork and evening hours with local law enforcement, I enjoyed the coffee houses we frequented.  Seeing the delight the local patrons were having, meeting friends and business partners at local coffee houses, drove the desire in me to open my own coffee house in Surprise, Arizona.  Luckily for me, my wife, Marie, was willing to go along for the ride and be my partner in the venture.

One thing I knew I wanted to do that most coffee houses don’t do, is roast my own coffee.  Our Coffee will SURPRISE you…we Roast our own!  There are only a few independent coffee roasting houses out there serving fresh coffee.  Our coffee is roasted on location several times a week to ensure our customers get the freshest coffee available.  (This is an important factor since coffee goes stale after about 14 days.)  If you have a special flavored coffee you like, please ask us.  We have many flavors available from which to choose. 

How did we get the name “Toshi’s Roast”?  Our lovable, happy and sociable son, Toshi, is the inspiration.  When you come by, you may see him greeting and meeting people.  Toshi has a big heart and always cares about others.  Please make sure to stop by and say “Hi.”

Do you appreciate fine quality home espresso units, brewers and home roasters?  We carry what we believe to be some of the finest equipment available.

We also invite you to see what the coffee culture is all about.  If you happen to come in while we are roasting, feel free to stick around and watch; aahh, the wonderful smell of coffee!  Please ask what samples are available for you to try.  We want your experience with us to be special!
